Hi lovelies!
I wanted to talk about my overall goals. I think talking about my goals here will give me more motivation to achieve them! I adore fashion, but more so from the perspective of the design of the garment itself, and I have a dream of being a fashion designer and launching my own collection.
I’m giving myself the next six months or so to build a fashion portfolio before I head off to post-secondary next year (I’m taking a gap year at the moment). I plan to post all my progress and use my website as my portfolio. At the moment, I don’t have many people following along on my journey, but over the next little while I’m going to try something out to try and grow my audience. One of the things I’m gonna try is making longer-form content. I think that being transparent about what I struggle with skill-wise, and how I actually do stuff, will make my content more authentic and bring people in. I am of course always open to advice so long as it’s done nicely!
I’m definitely not the most skilled at sewing, and I have lots to learn, hence why I plan on going to fashion school in the first place. Using my social media to build my brand and who I am as a desginer i think, will help me in the long run and can help me with things that even fashion school can’t.
